How should you use your eyes on a long screen day?
Screen work is ordinary daily life, and what can be adjusted is mostly about setting up the environment rather than about what you eat.
How should you rest your eyes?
The approach usually described is to look away from the screen periodically, focus on something further away for a moment, then return.
The principle is not holding focus at one distance for too long at a stretch.
What about screen distance and height?
The screen should sit at a distance you can read without leaning in, with the top edge at or slightly below eye level.
Posture and eye use are connected, because leaning towards a screen usually comes from text being too small or the screen too far away.
How should brightness be set?
Screen brightness should be close to the brightness of the room. A screen much brighter or much darker than its surroundings makes you strain.
Reflections from a window or a light behind you are a common cause, and moving the desk often fixes it directly.
How does blinking come in?
People blink less when concentrating on a screen, without noticing. Taking periodic breaks helps with this too, and low humidity in air-conditioned rooms is a related factor.
What can be said about food?
Under the annex to Thai Ministry of Public Health Notification No. 447 (B.E. 2566), vitamin A, zinc and riboflavin contribute to the maintenance of normal vision.
When should you see an ophthalmologist?
A periodic eye examination is a matter for an ophthalmologist, and an article cannot stand in for one.
